This letter is entailing the times that I had shared at Camp Compass Academy. I began in eighth grade when I was in the awkward stages. I attended Mr. Annoni’s seminar about Camp Compass and I immediately joined. Through my years there I had experienced more than words can express. It is interesting because most people assume that Camp Compassis about camping and hunting among other things, however, it is so much more. It is about getting the community involved with fund raisers and supporters. The learning process is amazing. I learned about various animals and science as well as behavior and respect. I have the utmost respect for Camp Compass and Mr. Annoni.
Through Mr. Annoni’s efforts to making children have goals, I have succeed in mine. I remember after school we had to first complete homework before any activities. School was first before anything. Attitudes, behaviors and so much more has shaped me into the person I am today. I am a college student studying in child psychology. Because of what Mr. Annoni has done for me as well as other children I have wanted to be a part of it for numerous years. He has taught me to believe in myself and to believe in others. He has done more for the community than any other teacher I have ever met.
I have felt privileged and honored in being a part of Camp Compass, and having the best time of my childhood than words can express. That’s the important part is that Mr. Annoni among others, have given me a childhood I can never forget. I remember being so proud of my bow and arrow set that I was allowed to present the bow in school and demonstrate it. I learned from Mr. Annoni and then I was able to teach what I knew to others in my school. My childhood was the best time because I was able to go away on weekends and learn and hunt. I owe a lot to Mr. Annoni. No one could ever ask for a better teacher, friend, and instructor.
Mr. Annoni has always been a great person and for what he does with children today is anything but short of amazing. I am married to a wonderful man, in college and best of all I have my head on straight because I had the opportunity to see past city life and know that there is so much more out there. I thank Mr. Annoni for everything and I fully support him with Camp Compass. It is a way for children to enjoy their childhood and there is nothing more innocent and amazing about that.
